Baby Shower

My little sister is expecting twins in February and her best friend and I are throwing her shower.  Since my sister is a scrapbooker, we knew she would love home made invitations.  Since we needed around 50 of them though, we didn't want them to be too complicated.  We decided a baby bottle design would be simple enough and give us the space we needed for our information.  We used the bottle from Doodlecharms.  I changed the proportions on my Gypsy so the invites will fit in a business envelope.  I used Opposites Attract to print "Twins!" on the ring of the bottle with my Cricut markers.  The colors are a bit non-traditional, but my sister doesn't know the genders of the babies and we had access to a large quantity of free cardstock in bright colors, so we thought this would be fun and eye catching!

Tall grasshopper card

I was inspired by several challenge blogs to create this card.  I don't have a sentiment on it yet.  It could be a "Hoppy Birthday" card, or just a general cheery summer card.

The only cart I used was Stretch Your Imagination.  I used the card feature, and opted for the "stretched" card.  I used my Gypsy to stretch it a little more so it would be the size of a tall card to fit in a business envelope.  I also used my Gypsy to create layering, as the card feature on this cart does not allow for layering.

The perfect pear

I wanted to enter the fruit challenge at Cardztv.  I liked the pear pun at My Pink Stamper and wanted to make something with a similar saying.  I didn't think I had any pear cuts, but I used My Cut Search and discovered that there was a pear on Gypsy Font.  The heart and the cut the sentiment is on are also from Gypsy Font.  I used my Cricut markers to write the sentiment, which is from Calligraphy Collection.

Happy Birthday!

My niece's birthday is coming up.  She's going to be 22, so I didn't want a card that was too childish or too "senior" for her.  I used the wine (or champagne?) glasses from Calligraphy collection.  I used the Hide Contour feature on my Gypsy to delete one of the glasses.  I then doubled the design.  On one, I hid the line for the inside of the glass.  (This was cut in white.)  On the other, I hid the line for the outside.  (This was cut in pink.)  The result was having a glass that looks like it is full rather than cutting an outline of a glass.

I decided to make a tall card mainly because of the size of my scraps.  The idea for making a tall card came from Mary at Cardztv.  These cards fit in a business envelope.
I felt like it was missing a little something and decided to add some buttons I'd gotten a while back, since the colors were about right.  I like the bright colors on this card, and didn't want to cover them up to make a plain colored square for the sentiment to be stamped on, but it doesn't show up all that well on the patterned paper.
