Crock Pot page

This is the latest page I created as a divider for my friend's recipe book.  I used a sketch from Card Positioning Systems for inspiration.  To create a Crock Pot, I used the pot from the From My Kitchen cartridge.  I stretched it on the Gypsy to make it wider and hand trimmed the handles down.  I also used part of the timer image from the same cartridge to make the dial.  I had thought about cutting out one of the other appliances from that cart that has a cord, but after adding the dial I thought it looked close enough to a crock pot that I didn't need it.  The words "Crock Pot" were cut from Gypsy Font.

Gracias

I wanted to have some Spanish thank you cards made up to give to parents of my students when the need arises.  I used the sketch from the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge as inspiration.  The large shape in the middle is from Ashlyn's Alphabet.  The black layer was run through my Cuttlebug in a new (to me) folder by The Paper Studio called Tiny Stars.  The font is from Gypsy Font.  I used my Gypsy to weld the word (after the G) together.  The little stars on the bottom right are from an old-fashioned, and highly neglected, paper punch.

The perfect pear

I wanted to enter the fruit challenge at Cardztv.  I liked the pear pun at My Pink Stamper and wanted to make something with a similar saying.  I didn't think I had any pear cuts, but I used My Cut Search and discovered that there was a pear on Gypsy Font.  The heart and the cut the sentiment is on are also from Gypsy Font.  I used my Cricut markers to write the sentiment, which is from Calligraphy Collection.

This card will be entered in the following challenges:

Thanksgiving birthday card

My uncle's birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year, so I wanted to make a combined birthday card.  I used the Gypsy Font and the cornucopia from Paper Dolls Dress Up.  This card will be entered in the Cricut Cardz Challenge #46 (anything goes), Paper Cutz Challenge #63 (anything goes), and the Paper Playtime challenge #20 (orange as main color).

Update 10/30/10
Uncle Pete passed away last night.  He will be greatly missed by many.  As his youngest daughter posted on Facebook, "I just take comfort that he can once again hear and has no physical problems now that he is in heaven."
