Thinking of You

One of my coworkers is going through a difficult time, so a group of us is chipping in for a special gift and needed a card to go along with it.  Of course, I volunteered to make the card!  I used the Cuttlebug cutting and embossing combo of Everyday Greetings.  I just used my scissors to cut the "I'm" off from the phrase "I'm thinking of you," since this card is from a group.

A recently retired coworker is in need of some cheer.  She was thought to have an aggressive form of lymphoma.  The doctors now say that is not what it is, but they are not sure what she does have.  The staff where I work has created a calendar where we each signed up for a day to send her a card so she can keep receiving them over a period of time rather than all at once.  Tomorrow is my day and this is the card I created for her:

The mixer is from From my Kitchen.  The shape behind it is from Gypsy Wanderings.  I embossed it with the Cuttlebug folder Spots and Dots.

"Green" cards

I had an old calendar with photos too gorgeous to throw out, so I decided to cut it up and make some cards with it.  I used my the cutting plate from my Cuttlebug Everyday Greetings set to cut out an assortment of words from scrap paper.  On a the cards where the photo I cut from the calendar wasn't quite large enough, I added some Cuttlebug embossed paper.

Thinking of you

I made this card for a blogger friend who is facing a challenge in her life right now.  All of the cuts came from Storybook, one of my new carts.  I actually had to do a little post-Cricut doctoring with my scissors.  The image has some curly-cues inside and outside of the frame.  I needed to trim the inside ones to have room for the sentiment.  When I went to put the card together, I realized that I must have miscalculated on my Gypsy and cut the image a bit too big, so I had to cut the curls from the outside as well.  The sentiment is from Dee's Bugaboo Boutique.  She has lots of great free scripture word art.  I ran the brown card front through the Cuttlebug Scrollwork folder.  I added 3 jewels to the bottom with my i-rock.

Please excuse the poor photography.  My husband is out with the camera right now, so I had to use the built-in one on my laptop.

Summer Sunshine

One of my coworkers lost her brother unexpectedly a few weeks ago.  We passed around a calendar signing up to bring a meal to her family.  Tomorrow is my turn.  I knew that in addition to a meal, I wanted to bring some cookies.  So, the blog hop and challenge at Baking up Crafts was perfect timing.  Actually, I had been planning on making chocolate chip cookies, but on the blog hop, I came across a recipe for easy lemon cookies on The Joyful Stamper's blog and decided to try those instead.  Of course, I had to taste test one first to make sure they were good enough to give away :)

Then, I wanted to make a card to cheer her up.  A smiling summer sun came to mind.  I used My Cut Search to search through the carts to find a good one.  (This site seems faster than using the Gypsy search, and I like that you can see the whole handbook page rather than just the keypad overlay.)  I used the sun from Smiley Cards.  His sunglasses are from EDPD.  The tags on the top of the card and the base of the pedestal are form Tags, Bags, Boxes and More.  The turquoise background was run through the D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and the white square was run through Spots and Dots.     I also used an Action Wobble for the first time.  I had signed up months ago for a free sample on Momo's blog and was saving them for the perfect occasion.  I thought it would add some extra cheer to this card.
